How to Apply Vacuum Insulation Panels

Vacuum insulation panel has been popular nowadays because of its several advantages and benefits to the uses. It is a form of thermal insulation, which has a low thermal conductivity. This type of panel is usually used in building construction, in making refrigerators become green appliance, and for transportation that needs to deliver heat sensitive products. Below are the things you need to know about vacuum insulation including the reason why double sided tape is the best tool in applying vacuum insulation panel
Construction
Like any other types of panels, vacuum insulation panels have its construction. It has membrane walls, which prevents the air from entering the panel. The vacuum insulation panel also consist of getters or chemicals. These getters are the ones who collect leaked gases, which came from the off grassed of the membrane materials. The chemicals are added to vacuum insulation panels together with foam cores or with glass fibre. During the planned service life, a higher vacuum is needed for cores with bigger pore size. This type of panel also consists of rigid panel made out of highly porous materials. Examples of the materials include aerogel, glass fibre, fumed silica, and perlite. The use of these materials is to support the membrane walls and prevent atmospheric pressure once the air is expatriate.
Importance
Modern and high technology refrigerators nowadays have added a feature that aims to improve energy efficiency. We all know that lower energy consumption can a big advantage to save money on out monthly electricity bill, but did you know it is also beneficial for the environment too? With each appliances that are designed to become green appliances, there are materials that are used. In case of modern refrigerators, manufacturers uses vacuum insulation panel.
This type of panel is often compared to non-evacuated conventional insulation materials because of their evacuated insulation. However, vacuum insulation panel works better because of its outstanding properties. In addition, vacuum insulation panel gives people the space they needed on their refrigerators where they can store their food and beverages. It is because this type of panel makes the housings of cooling appliances become narrower. Aside from being used in refrigerators, residentially and commercially, vacuum insulation panels can also be used in temperature control shippers, and cryogenic equipment.
Application

There are different ways to apply the vacuum insulation panels in the refrigerators. However, the best way to adhere the panels in the sidewalls and doors of the fridge is to use double sided tape or other sticky tape. The reason behind why it is the best material to use is that it avoids polyurethane foam to get in between the bonding. If the polyurethane foam has completed the filling, it will cause the panel to lift. The double-sided tape will be the tool that will cover the full area of the panels. If the vacuum insulation panel was not installed properly, which usually because of not using the double tape, there is a high chance that the sidewalls and doors of the refrigerator will have visible deformations. This deformation is possible because of the combination of the expanding properties of polyurethane foam and the vacuum insulation panel.
